Coronavirus has affected people of all communities irrespective of which nationalities they belong to. Previously, it was said that the virus is only affecting a particular age group and people with some existing problems. So, when it’s about maintaining proper hygiene to avoid coronavirus, everyone is extremely aware. But sometimes, we are feeling confused about various hygiene methods, and feeling baffled. However, WHO has shared a guideline for proper hygiene to avoid coronavirus.
Keep Yourself Clean
For fighting the coronavirus, it is important to maintain our personal hygiene first. Therefore, we must take the recommendation of washing our hands very frequently at least for 20 seconds. For washing our hands, it is best to use the soap and water over any sanitizer when we are at our home. Do not skip your bath any day to keep yourself clean.
Disinfecting Frequently Touched Surfaces
In our home, there are lots of surface areas, where we touch frequently. That includes our door handles, fridge door, light switches, television remote, etc. You will need a good disinfectant to keep all the surfaces clean every time before you touch. You can use a mop or a wiper to clean the surfaces.
Avoid Touching Your Face’s Areas
Most people have the bad habit of touching their face areas like nose, eyes, and mouth. These are the entry point for the virus into a person’s body. Therefore, you don’t want to rub your eyes without thoroughly washing your hands or pick your nose. Also, chewing fingernails can bring us close to contacting the virus.
Wash Hands Very Well After Doing Laundry
It is confirmed that coronavirus can stay on fabrics for a long time. So, it is high time that you change the clothes as you return to your home. You must wash the clothes along with other items immediately before taking a thorough shower using soap.
Frequently Change And Wash Towels, Bed Sheets, Reusable Napkins
Unlike every other thing, we mostly don’t wash our bedsheets, towels, or kitchen napkins regularly. But keeping the COVID-19 situation at hand, we must refrain from doing so for long intervals. If you don’t change the bedsheets every 3-4 days, it is good to practice it. When you are using your towels or kitchen napkins, wash them after each use.
Keep Pets Clean
Do you have furry pets at your place? Then you should keep give them a bath every week this time. If you have birds or other pets that stay inside a cage or glass tanks, they will also need good hygiene. So, it is important that you clean the cages frequently. Do not wait to get a foul smell. When you keep your pets clean, they are unlikely to receive any infection.
Handle Food Items With More Care
It is mostly an unlikely situation that coronavirus would infect anyone through food. But still, we must handle our food and water containers with extra care. In case a container has come in contact with the virus, it will reach the food or water too. Therefore, we should always use clean utensils before and after preparing food. We must cook food at higher temperatures and stay away from refrigerated foods.
