Causes Of Varicose Veins

There are several causes of varicose veins. Firstly, this disease is most common in women. Pregnancy of women can cause this problem. This disease may happen only when a woman goes through vaginal delivery. Secondly, obesity is a significant factor. Most of the obese people suffer through this because of the heavyweight pressure on the legs. Thirdly, this disease is often passed through parents. If a parent if suffering through this, then the children are also most likely to suffer. Lastly, venous reflux syndrome in old age can cause varicose vein condition. Reflux happens because of the reduced blood circulation through the legs.

Symptoms Of Varicose Veins              

Varicose veins are the swollen nerves visible through the skin. Still, this disease can be detected before it affects. Firstly, heavy and aching legs are the initial symptoms. This aching gradually leads to swelling of ankles in the evening. Secondly, regular cramps on sudden movements can also occur. Frequent pains eventually cause blood clotting in the affected veins. Thirdly, these veins tend to change the skin color of legs to yellow or red. Lastly and most importantly, spider veins appear in the affected areas. A small cut can cause heavy bleeding in spider veins.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Initially, a varicose vein affected area is accessible visible through naked eyes. The irregular and swollen shape of veins stretch the skin, which makes it visible. But, if there are symptoms of the disease and it is not visible, then a clinical diagnosis is preferred. Trendelenburg test and Ultrasonography test can diagnose the affected vein. However, there are treatments available for varicose veins. Active and conservative are the two kinds of treatment of this disease. Active treatment includes surgical and non-surgical methods, whereas conservative treatment includes treatment through exercise and physiotherapy. 

Active Treatment

There are several surgical treatments of varicose veins. Laser treatment and stripping surgery are the most preferred methods. However, Scaleotherapy and use of steam are the non-surgical methods for the treatment of these veins. In Sclerotherapy injections are used for treatment.

Conservative Treatment

An initial cure is the best way to avoid surgical treatment. Moreover, regular exercises are beneficial for the healing of the disease. A daily morning or evening walk regulates the blood flow in the legs. Also, physiotherapy is a method to cure the disease.

There are creams available in almost every pharmacy for the treatment of varicose veins. However, most of the doctors suggest Varesil cream for the treatment. The skin absorbs the cream and helps in toning up the veins.
